Project Samurai – Carburetor & ECM
Many Samurai met their fate not in battle, but the junk yard due to failed emissions testing. The carburetor used was electronically controlled, a precursor to fuel injection. It is a Hitachi DFB306 2-barrel downdraft type carburetor with primary and secondary barrels.
The electronics used includes a secondary vacuum solenoid valve, EGR vacuum solenoid valve, idle up vacuum solenoid valve, float bowl vent solenoid, fuel cut solenoid valve, mixture control solenoid valve, altitude switch, under the hood temperature switch, engine temperature switch, O2 sensor, engine RPM, fifth gear switch and two throttle position switches.
The mixture control solenoid valve which is operated by the electrical signals from the Electronic Control Module (ECM) so as to maintain the optimum air fuel ratio of the primary slow and the primary main systems at all times. This type of carburetor was only used for a limited time period and most mechanics who are not familiar with them try to treat them as a conventional carburetor and have trouble.
The ECM is the brain that controls important functions of the engine. A Samurai can run without it, I have seen one that did, but the secondary, EGR, idle up, vent solenoid will not function and it will run rich with the mixture control valve not working. The ECM has a limp mode that will cause it to run full rich if there is a problem with the O2 sensor or other inputs. The ECM must be checked with the diagnostic feedback test prior to adjusting the carburetor.
In addition to the electronic controls there are numerous vacuum lines, switches and valves to check. A must is the float bowl vent tube nozzle. Vent tube nozzle (Suzuki part 13211-831Z0)

The bible of the Suzuki Samurai is the Field Service Manual. It is available for download at 1986-1988 Suzuki Samurai Factory Service Manual
Most importantly, besure to lube the linkage with AMSOIL Metal Protector and clean out the intake with AMSOIL Power Foam.

Project Samurai - Bypass Filtration
Some may suggest a bypass filter on a 1.3L Suzuki Samurai engine is overkill, but there are benefits beyond clean oil. For a small four quart system the quart increase in oil capacity is 25%. This helps the oil last longer, maintain proper viscosity and keeps the engine running cooler.
The Ea By-Pass Oil Filter (EaBP) provides the best possible filtration protection against wear and oil degradation. Working in conjunction with the engine’s full-flow oil filter, the AMSOIL Ea By-Pass Filter operates by filtering oil on a “partial-flow” basis. It draws approximately 10 percent of the oil pump’s capacity at any one time and traps the extremely small, wear-causing contaminants that full-flow filters can’t remove. The AMSOIL Ea Bypass Filter typically filters all the oil in the system several times an hour, so the engine continuously receives analytically clean oil.
For our build we used a AMSOIL BMK-21 mounting kit, EaBP-90 and a Top Dog V available from http://paretopoint.com/item--TopDog-V--topdogv_s.html to make the bypass connection. This saved time and made a clean in and out path with out having to drill or alter the engine. The extra protection of the magnets in the Top Dog V are an added plus for protection. An AMSOIL full flow Ea15k51 was used in the stock location.
The result was a simple clean install in under one hour. Here is a quick video of another installation on an FJ. Top-Dog-Installation

FOR OIL TWINS AMSOIL DRIVER ZACH ZAUSS, RACING IS ALL IN THE FAMILY!
(July 1, 2011, Montclair, CA) When he was growing up, few people could argue that Oil Twins Amsoil sponsored driver Zach Zauss would one day drive a racecar. After all, the first year California Lightning Sprint Car Series driver's mom did some Indy style racing in Nevada, his grandfather raced Sprint Cars and his dad currently races Stocks Cars in Nevada and Northern California. This Saturday night, July 2nd, Zauss will be flying the Oil Twins Amsoil logo at "The Southern California Home to Major League Sprint Car Racing," Perris Auto Speedway.
Before 2011, Zauss, who was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, got in one race in a Lightning Sprint Car and one in a Super Stock. However, involvement with another sport is what finally pushed Zauss into the seat of a racecar. Bowling! Zauss is an accomplished bowler who has bowled in some PBA tournaments and he coaches kids every day. Last year, one of the young kegler's he was coaching was Hemet, California teenager Alexander Bissett, who was a rookie in the California Lightning Sprint Car Series. "Alexander told me to come out to the racetrack one night, so I came out and helped him work on the car," Zauss said by phone on Thursday afternoon. "The Bissett family asked me to come out and help at every race after that. I tinkered around with their car and helped them with the set up with some of the tricks of the trade my grandfather taught me. I then decided to get one of my own."
The plan was for Zauss to race the entire season with the CLS, but a little bump came up in the road after two races. "The Thursday night before one of our races, I was admitted into the local Rancho Springs Medical Hospital," Zauss stated. "I was then shipped off Kaiser in Riverside. I had a heart issue where my heart would shut off."
At first, it looked the personable racer was going to miss the balance of the season. However, the doctor recently cleared him for all normal activities. "I am taking medication for it and it is under control now. I have no problems."
When it appeared that Zauss was going to be out of his racecar for a while, CLS officials quickly offered him a job as a race night official. He accepted that position and now intends race some nights and officiate on others. "I still am kind of an official," he said while laughing. "I believe I am only going to race at the Perris races and as we travel to other tracks, I am going to be an official."
There is no hiding the Murrieta, California resident's zest to start racing again on Saturday night. "I am so excited to get back in the car," he enthused. "Ever since I got home from Vegas (Zauss was in Las Vegas last weekend coaching a huge kid's tournament) the mindset has changed from bowling to racing. The car is shining. I think it is cleaner than before I took it out for the first race. I have had an ear to ear grin every day this week. I wake up, sit in the garage and say, 'I am going to race my car again, hallelujah.'"
The 23-year-old met up with Andy Jones of the Oil Twins at an open practice session at Perris Auto Speedway in March. "Andy was getting some stickers ready to put on the "Red Hot Racing Grandma's" (fellow Oil Twins Amsoil driver Ronnie Everhart) car and I nudged Andy and said, "Hey, how about we get some Amsoil stickers up on this ride?' He said, 'absolutely.' He hung out with me and I went to some trade shows with him and at the Night of Destruction show at The PAS a few weeks ago, I signed on and became a dealer with Amsoil."
One of the reason's Zauss decided to become an Amsoil dealer was the quality of the product. "I used to run another product, but when I put Amsoil in, I noticed a significant change," he said. "The biggest change I noticed was in my tow rig. I drive a 1996 GMC 1500. I put the fuel injector cleaner into my truck and got six more miles to the gallon. I swear by the Amsoil product. I own six vehicles and every one of them has Amsoil running in it. In my tow rig and my racecar, every fluid and every grease product that I can get has the Amsoil label."

OIL TWINS AMSOIL DRIVER TO RACE TWO DIVSIONS AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!
(June 23 2011, Montclair, CA) This Saturday night, June 25th, when the PASSCAR Stock Car Series rolls onto the track at the West Coast's premiere dirt oval, Perris Auto Speedway, racing fans will have two reasons to watch Oil Twins Amsoil racing star Steven "Bam Bam" Fangmeyer. The Corona, California based driver will not only be racing as usual in the American Factory Stock class, but he will be making his first ever appearance in the Street Stock division.
Fangmeyer's, association with the Riverside County oval goes back 13 years. When he was 12-years old, Fangmeyer and his father helped work on Ken Searcy's Super Stock. "My dad and some of his friends helped work on Ken's car," the 25-year-old racer said. "I was just a little kid hanging around the shop doing what I could do. Putting on tires and stuff like that."
Fangmeyer's association with Searcy grew until he eventually became crew chief on the blue and yellow #50 car when it won The PAS championship in 2009. While being a championship crew chief was very satisfying, Fangmeyer wanted more. He wanted a championship as a driver and in 2010, his second full season of racing, he parlayed his dream into reality when he was crowned PASSCAR Factory Stock champion.
This Saturday night he will expand his racing horizons again. In addition to competing in the Factory Stocks, he will take his first ever green flag in a Street Stock driving the Camaro normally raced by Jeremy Culp. It will be double duty at the track, but as the affable Fangmeyer explains, it is a lot of extra work getting two cars ready in the shop. "Between last week and this week, we have done two or three times the work getting the cars ready," he said via telephone on Wednesday afternoon. "It makes it harder with all of the little things you have to do. They pile up and you have to get them done."
2011 is Fangmeyer's second straight season racing with the Oil Twins Amsoil logo boldly emblazoned on his car. He is not only pleased with the sponsorship, but also with the fantastic results produced by Amsoil products and by the friendship he has made with Andy and Casey Jones of the Oil Twins. "When I won the last race in 2009, they joked around and Andy put an Amsoil sticker on my car," he said laughing. "For the first two races in 2010, my power steering system went to trash, so Andy said to try Amsoil and gave me some product. It worked on the power steering so then I went to the rear end. Their products worked there, too. Soon after and ever since, all of the fluids I run in my car have been produced by Amsoil. I wanted to pay him back somehow for helping me out and being a friend, so I signed up and now I am an Amsoil dealer, too."
Speaking for the Oil Twins, Andy Jones, talked about their relationship with Fangmeyer. "Steve is a joy to work with. The best about him is the passion he brings to whatever he is doing. Whether it is motorsports or his personal life, he always does it to the fullest."
In the short time since he began his racing career, Fangmeyer has quickly grown into a crowd favorite. Nicknamed "Bam Bam" for pounding on the roof of his car in victory circle after posting a win, Fangmeyer's popularity has not gone unnoticed by Perris promoter Don Kazarian. "Steven is a great racer to have around," Kazarian said. "He has a fun personality and the fans love him. Especially the kids. He is always a very positive guy."
In addition to his Stock Car endeavors, Fangmeyer has joined the pit crew of the Oil Twins sponsored #23 Sprint Car driven at Perris by rising young start Greg Alexander in the Amsoil USAC/CRA Series.
Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM on Saturday and the first race will be at 5:30.

OIL TWINS AMSOIL RACERS BROWN & ALEXANDER IMPRESS AT SALUTE TO INDY!
(June 1, 2011, Montclair, CA) Oil Twins Amsoil racing stars Greg Alexander and Tim Brown both gave a good account of themselves at the annual Salute to Indy last Saturday night at "Southern California's Home to Major League Sprint Car Racing," Perris Auto Speedway.
Before the largest PAS crowd of 2011, Alexander, 22, was competing in the Amsoil USAC/CRA Series. Going up against the best funded teams on the West Coast, the Gardena, California based racer turned in the eighth fastest qualifying time in the tough 33-car field. In three starts in the series this year, Alexander has one fast time, a fifth and Saturday's eighth.
In heat race action, Alexander posted his second win of 2011. He then began the main on the outside of the front row and jumped into second on the start. As usual, Alexander awed the crowd as he battled tooth and nail with the big buck teams. On lap six, he took the lead and ended up leading his first two laps ever in 410 Sprint Car competition.
A couple laps later Alexander did spin while fighting for second and he was forced to restart at the back of the field. After the restart, he passed several cars and was headed for the front again when a red flag came out due to another car crashing. Once the race restarted again, Alexander's right rear was losing air pressure and he was forced to drop out and finished 19th. It was another impressive night, but this one had a disappointing finish for the up and coming driver.
Brown, who lives in Wildomar, California, was competing against the California Lightning Sprint Car Series largest field of cars (23) in 2011. He was impressive from his first green flag of the night when he came from the second row to win his six lap heat race.
For the main Brown had to come from the tenth starting position (outside row 5) and he immediately began making a charge to the front. By the end of the fifth circuit he was third and when the 20-lap race reached the midway point, he was running second.
Things got exciting on the 11th lap when Brown made contact with another car. The front of his brightly painted Oil Twins Amsoil sponsored racer got up in the air. When it came down, he was speeding head on towards the inside crash wall. In an incredible move, he managed to get the car turned, brushed the wall and continued racing! It was a miraculous save, but he did drop back to fifth. Once he had gathered it back in, he got busy with the job at hand and advanced to the fourth place spot, which is where he was when the checkered signaled an end to the exciting race.
Had Brown not gotten the car straightened and hit the wall hard on the lap 11 incident, he would have lost his point lead. However, his great save and persistence to gain back another position before the end of the race allowed him to increase his point lead from 36 to 49 points.
In the six CLS races to date thus far in 2011, Brown has three second place finishes, two fourths and a ninth. He has been the most consistent driver of the season and therefore sits on top of the championship points standings.
While Brown has this weekend off, Alexander will be in action this Saturday in the Chuck Tyler Motorsports #72 at the Ron Otto Memorial USAC West Coast 360 race at Santa Maria Speedway. Brown will get back into the Oil Twins Amsoil #22 on Saturday, June 11th, when the CLS Series makes it's first ever appearance at Victorville Raceway Park.

OIL TWINS AMSOIL RACERS RACK UP PODIUM FINISHES IN PASSCAR ACTION!
(May 27, 2011, Montclair, CA) Oil Twins Amsoil drivers Stephanie Herbage and "Big Jake" Everhart both recorded podium finishes at last Saturday's PASSCAR Stock Car event at Southern California's Perris Auto Speedway. Herbage, who resides in Moreno Valley, California, came home second in the American Factory Stock Class while Everhart, who lives near the track in Perris, was third in the Oil Twins Amsoil Street Stock main.
For Herbage, who is contesting her second full season of racing on the PAS inner quarter mile oval, the runner-up finish catapulted her to the number two spot in the championship point standings. In addition to her second place finish last Saturday, the Riverside Community College student drove her black #33 Camaro to the win in the season opener on April 18th. In her only other race of 2011, she finished seventh on May 9th.
Everhart's third place in Saturday's Street Stock main was his best yet in 2011. Like Herbage in the American Factory Stocks, the finish moved Everhart to second in the Street Stock championship standings. Before Saturday, Everhart's best finish of the campaign was a fourth on May 7th. One of the pre-season favorites to win the 2011 championship, Everhart started fifth in Saturday's main event and by the time the checkered flag ended the race, he was closing in fast on the lead duo.
Everhart's teammates, his wife Ronnie and their 17-year-old son Dalton, were also in the Street Stock feature. Like his father, Dalton posted a season best fifth place finish after starting eleventh. Ronnie was having a strong run near the front of the pack early on before breaking a rocker arm and finishing 10th. After Saturday's race, Ronnie is fourth in the standings and Dalton is sixth.
Herbage and the Everhart clan will be joined by another Oil Twins Amsoil driver, defending American Factory Stock champion Steven "Bam Bam" Fangmeyer of Corona, when the PASSCAR Series returns to Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday, June 25th.

OIL TWINS AMSOIL'S TIM BROWN LEADS CALIFORNIA LIGHTNING SPRINT CAR SERIES!
(May 26, 2011, Montclair, CA) This Saturday Night, May 28th, the California Lightning Sprint Car Series will return to action in the Annual Salute to Indy at Southern California's Perris Auto Speedway. Leading the 18-year-old series into the famous Riverside County clay oval is Oil Twins Amsoil driver Tim Brown of Wildomar, California.
A long time amateur motocross racer, Brown, 51, was also a big Sprint Car fan. Four years ago he went to a Lightning Sprint Car race at Barona. "It is a funny thing," he said with a laugh over the phone on Wednesday afternoon. "I watched it and I said, 'I can go out and win this.' So, I went out and bought a car. I never practiced in it, I just went and raced and found out it was not as easy as it looked."
Brown always liked going fast and was fully prepared to do so the first time he sat in the car, but he did not realize how much more was involved in the set up of the car as opposed to a motorcycle. While he is still learning set ups to this day, he has had a phenomenal start to the 2011 season and is leading the CLS points heading into Saturday's race. In the first five races of the campaign he has three second place finishes, a fourth and a ninth. He leads the second place driver by 36-points as they prepare to attack the brightly lit PAS half-mile clay oval.
Brown met Andy Jones of the Oil Twins through 2009 CLS champion Stuart Hielscher. Jones offered Brown a CLS Amsoil sponsorship. At the time Brown was using a different brand. "At that time I was changing my oil every race," Brown emphatically said. "The guys I bought my car from said the best thing you can do is change your oil every race. So that is what I was doing. Andy told me his product was better than what I was using and I would not have to change the oil so often so I bought a case."
When Brown purchased his first case of Amsoil, Jones told him instead of changing it every race, go three races before changing. "With the old brand, when I would change oil after every race, it would almost look like it separated," Brown said. "It had a strange look to it. It appeared whipped and had a swirled look to it. When I ran the Amsoil, I took Andy's advice and ran it three races. It is a real gold looking oil. When it came out after those three races, it looked like it had not even been used. It was still the same exact consistency and was as gold and clean as it was the day it went in. That was after three nights of running the thing at 13,000 RPM's for 45 minutes."
Brown was amazed by the product and told that to Jones. He was pleased with Amsoil and the Oil Twins were happy with him. They decided they would offer him additional support for the season to fight for the championship. In addition to their lubricants, Brown uses the Amsoil Coolant Boost and Heavy Duty Metal Protector on his chain.
Crowning of the 2011 California Lightning Sprint Car Series champion is still a little over five-months away. However, with his current point lead, consistent driving style and Amsoil in and on the car, Tim Brown would is a good bet to be the man on top of the heap when the final checkered flag falls.
Highlights of the Saturday's race will be available from Raceway Video. http://racewayvideo.com/
In addition to Brown and the California Lightning Sprint Cars, the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, Senior Sprint and the WRA Vintage Cars will all be in action on Saturday night. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first race will be at 7:00. For more information, please visit the track's web site at: http://www.perrisautospeedway.com/

OIL TWINS AMSOIL TEAM WELL REPRESENTED SATURDAY AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!
(May 19, 2011, Montclair, CA) Four different drivers will be flying the colors of the Oil Twins Amsoil Racing Team at this Saturday's PASSCAR race at Southern California's Perris Auto Speedway. The husband, wife and son team of Ronnie, Jake and Dalton Everhart will be battling each other and the rest of the field for supremacy in the Oil Twins Amsoil Street Stocks and Stephanie Herbage will be flying the Oil Twins flag in the Pick-A-Part Factory Stocks. Saturday will be PASSCAR Fan Appreciation Night and the first 100 fans will be admitted free. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first race will be at 5:30.
The Everhart name has been synonymous with Perris Auto Speedway for the past nine seasons. Ronnie (short for Rhonda) began the family legacy in 2003 when she not only won the track championship for the Sport Compacts at The PAS, but also the combined championship between The PAS and Orange Show Speedway. To prove those championships were not flukes, she brought the Perris title home again in 2004.
Soon after winning her second crown, Everhart moved up to battle in the Street Stocks with her husband Jake and two years ago they were joined by their then 15-year-old son Dalton. Heading into Saturday's race at The PAS, they rank second, third and fourth in the Oil Twins Amsoil Street Stock championship standings and they are separated by a mere 16-points.
The Everhart clan comes to the racetrack as a family, but once the green flag drops, it is every driver for them self. "Out on the track we are focused on our own agenda and that is winning the race and doing the best we can," Ronnie said. "Once in a while the family thing comes into play. I have seen my son get into a situation and I can't help it, but I react as a mother would react. We try to keep our personal feelings out of it, but you know racing, it is a pretty passionate sport."
Two years ago, Ronnie blew more engines than any driver at the track. It was her worst season to date and that was due to the engine failures. However, the family team picked up a sponsorship from the Oil Twins and began using Amsoil. Since then, her luck has turned around 180 degrees. "The key to victory is good equipment, staying out of trouble, consistency on the track and well maintained cars," she said. "Amsoil helps us in maintaining the cars. Two years ago we lost a lot of engines. Then we signed with Amsoil and our engine situation improved drastically. It has helped our performance on the track and prevented us from all of the blown engines."
In addition to the Everhart clan, the Oil Twins logo will fly proudly on the #33 American Factory Stock of Moreno Valley's Stephanie Herbage on Saturday night. When the 2011 season opened on April 18th, Herbage raised a lot of eyebrows when she led every lap of the main event for her first ever win. Coming into this week's race, the Riverside Community College student sits third in the championship point standings only six points out of second and only 23 behind the leader.
In addition to sponsoring the drivers mentioned above, the Oil Twins are corporate sponsors at Perris Auto Speedway and the proud presenters of the Oil Twins Dominator Awards at every PASSCAR race. The driver who passes the most cars in the Street Stock main event will receive a $50.00 certificate for Amsoil products and the driver who does likewise in the Factory Stock main will receive a $25.00 certificate. Each of those drivers automatically qualify for the season ending Oil Twins Challenge on October 29th.
Highlights of the Oil Twins sponsored drivers in action on Saturday will be available from Raceway Video. http://racewayvideo.com/

AMSOIL Racers BBR Motorsports Return to PAS
Last week’s PASSCAR race marked the return of reigning Factory Stock Champion, Steven “Bam Bam” Fangmeyer #50 and his teammate, Mike Burks Sr. #55. Both of the drivers from the BBR Motorsports stable brought excitement back with them by winning their heat races. In the main event, the two started 1&2 and were side by side when the #55 took a sharp right turn (note: should be making only left turns) and skidded sidewise on two wheels down the back stretch. Burks continued the race but suffered two flats which took him out of contention and ended up with a DNF.
Meanwhile, Fangmeyer had his hands full of a stock car with no power steering. He was good in the long runs when he could keep his rhythm and the car straight. Multiple cautions gave the 11 car an edge and Fangmeyer took home a strong second place finish.
Other notables in the Factory Stocks were “Super Stephie” Herbage in the #33. Building on her win in the season opener, she managed a seventh place finish after starting from the back.
In the Street Stock division, Dalton Everhart #72 won his heat, but suffered suspension damage after an early tangle for a DNF. “Big Jake” #12 and Ronnie Everhart #17, both had strong finishes with Jake in fourth and Ronnie in sixth.
The family leaves the weekend with an impressive points standing, 2nd: #17 Ronnie Everhart, 3rd: #12 Jake Everhart and 4th: #72 Dalton Everhart.
The highlights of the race can be seen at http://www.racewayvideo.com/

ALEXANDER GETS A WEEK OFF - AMSOIL NOW ON THE #72 CAR!
(Gardena, CA, April 21, 2011) Young Southern California Sprint Car racer Greg Alexander gets a rare weekend off before returning to action in the Chuck Tyler Motorsports #72 in the USAC Western 360 Sprint Car Series on Saturday, April 30th, at the Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.
Last Saturday night, the Gardena, California resident was in Tulare for the Faria Memorial, which was round three of the 2011 USAC Western 360 Series. Coming in second in the championship points standings, Alexander was 12th fast qualifier in the 23 car field. The driver, who celebrated his 22nd birthday this past Tuesday, finished second in his heat race and started 10th in the A main event.
By midway in the main, Alexander had raced his way up to sixth place before banging wheels with another car. He went wide into the slick stuff on the outside and the car stalled. He restarted at the back and was 16th when the final checkered flag fell on the night. Heading into next week's race he is fifth in the USAC Western 360 points standings.
In March, Alexander added Amsoil as a sponsor to his John Bellegante owned ride in the Amsoil USAC/CRA 410 Sprint Car Series. Alexander is impressed with the performance of the product. Likewise, Andy & Casey Jones of the Oil Twins are impressed with Alexander's driving and with his professional approach to the sport. So impressed, they are now a sponsor of Alexander in the Chuck Taylor Motorsports #72.
"This gave us another chance to sponsor Greg and to sponsor a car that is capable of winning the USAC Western 360 championship," Andy Jones said via telephone. "Greg is a great guy and very professional. We are pleased to now sponsor him in both his CRA and USAC Western 360 racing efforts and he will be using Amsoil in both cars."
As well as Amsoil, the Chuck Tyler owned #72 is sponsored by Trench Shoring, Barnes Systems, Sander Engineering, Tyler Pool Service and Tyler Family Farms.
In addition to his Chuck Tyler Motorsports ride in the USAC Western 360 Series, Alexander also drives the John Bellegante owned #23 in the Amsoil USAC/CRA Series. That car is sponsored by Barnes Systems, Amsoil, Persall Masonry, and Scott's Headers and Mufflers.

HERBAGE WINS AT PASSCAR FACTORY STOCK OPENER
For immediate release.
(Perris, CA, April 16, 2011) What a difference a year makes for PASSCAR Factory Stock Driver Stephanie Herbage. Last April in her rookie season, she was involved in a wreck that totaled her car. She raced the remainder of the year in a borrowed car. This year, she starts her season with a new ride and an impressive win.
It was a real emotional event for the driver and crew. They worked so hard on the new race car to get it ready. They struggled in hot laps and failed to make the heat race with fuel delivery problems. It looked like she wouldn’t make the main event. Once the problem was corrected, Herbage was able to start the main event on the front due to the inversion. She lead every lap and held off the field including Keith Woods, who was all over her bumper for the final laps of the race.
Congratulations to Stephanie, her crew; Dan, Matt, Daniel, Jason, Ken, and Daniel Jr. and her sponsors; K&N Filters, Swedish Speed, Champion Towing and Oil Twins / AMSOIL.

Another Weekend of Firsts for the Oil Twins at Perris Auto Speedway
(Montclair, CA, April 3, 2011) Lots of excitement was generated by the Oil Twins/AMSOIL sponsored racers in both USAC Sprints and California Lighting Sprints on Saturday night.
In USAC Sprints, there was a record number of five cars flying the Oil Twins banner; Greg Alexander - #23, Bobby Bender - #11b, Gary Potter - #62jr, Jerry Welton - #62 and Randy Waitman - #69. Randy Waitman ran a strong heat race and lead eight laps, unfortunately he was stung by too many cautions and gave up the lead on a restart. Greg Alexander really showed his stuff and won his heat, beating the points leader and three time champion Mike Spencer. This was the first heat race win for an Oil Twins sponsored USAC Sprint driver. In speaking to Greg after the race, he said, “The car was working very well tonight. The Amsoil products have made a noticeable difference. Our oil pressures are more constant throughout the RPM range.”
The CLS was equally exciting. There were two racers representing the Oil Twins, Tim Brown - #22 and John Sparlund - #7. This was John’s first race in his return to CLS. He had his hands full with teething a brand new race car. Tim Brown did a marvelous job winning his heat and taking a second place in the main event.
The Oil Twins would like to thank all of our racers and especially CLS racer Zach Zauss who is recovering from surgery and could not make the race this weekend.
The Oil Twins will return to PAS April 16th for the opener of PASSCAR. This will be the debut of the Oil Twin's Dominator Award.
See you at the PAS!

OIL TWINS DOMINATOR AWARD AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!
(Perris, CA, February 2, 2011) Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian is pleased to announce the "Oil Twins Dominator Award" for the PASSCAR Street Stocks and Factory Stocks. Beginning with the season opening PASSCAR race on Saturday, March 19th, the driver who passes the most cars in the main event for each class will receive a certificate for Amsoil products from the Oil Twins. Winners will also qualify for the "2nd Annual Oil Twins Challenge" on Champions night, which will take place on October 29th. "This a very nice deal and will provide some extra incentive for the PASSCAR Street Stock and Factory Stock drivers at every race in 2011," Kazarian said. "The Street Stock driver who passes the most cars in the main event every night will get a $50.00 certificate and the Factory Stock driver who passes the most will get a $25.00 certificate. We want to thank Andy and Casey Jones (the Oil Twins) for everything they do for the drivers and the track. I am sure the participating drivers will be very happy to hear about this exciting new program from the Oil Twins." The rules are quite simple. * At the finish of the main event, the driver who has advanced the most positions from his original scheduled starting spot will win the "Oil Twins Dominator Award" for that night. * Driver must have finished in the heat race that night to be eligible. . * Winners of the previous main event and first time drivers starting at the back are ineligible. * Certificates can only be redeemed from Casey or Andy Jones (Oil Twins). * Street Stocks must have 15” mandatory sticker on race vehicle placed on the brow of the windshield and visible from the front for the race. * Required AMSOIL / Oil Twins stickers for race vehicle are provided by the Oil Twins. "Since we became sponsors of the PAS, dirt racing has become our passion," Andy Jones said on Tuesday. "This our way of helping out the teams by rewarding the driver who drove the hardest in the race, but might not have a win to show for it. It also provides a great way for drivers to qualify for the Oil Twins Challenge and allows more racers at The PAS to experience the benefits of AMSOIL products first hand, so they can have the same passion for AMSOIL as we do." For Immediate Release GREG ALEXANDER & AMSOIL TEAM UP FOR USAC/CRA SERIES! (Gardena, CA, March 31, 2011) When Greg Alexander hits the track at Perris Auto Speedway, "The Southern California Home of Major League Sprint Car Racing," for the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car race this Saturday night (April 2nd), the John Belegante owned #23 will have a brand new sponsor on the hood. On Thursday Alexander announced that Amsoil, "The Original Synthetic Oil," will now be one of his sponsors for the 2011 USAC/CRA campaign. Alexander, who will turn 22-years-old on April 19th, is very happy about the deal and considers the new sponsorship like an early birthday present. "It means a lot to get somebody like Amsoil to help us out," the excited driver said on Thursday. "John Belegante and I do not have a whole lot of money. Every bit of help we can get from anybody is great and we appreciate it. This really means a lot to us. I am excited to get to use Amsoil." Alexander attracted a lot of attention when he out qualified all of the big name, big funded teams in the season opening Sokola Class at Perris on March 12th. "Anytime an under funded team performs that well it gets your attention," Andy Jones of the Oil Twins said with a smile on Thursday. "This is a good opportunity for us to help them and get some product into their hands to enhance their performance. Greg is called "The Best Kept Secret in California Sprint Car Racing." That is a fair analysis now, but that cat is getting out of the bag. Hopefully we can help get it out faster" Alexander, who lives in Gardena, California, hopes to have another good performance like his Sokola Shootout qualifying effort this Saturday and for the rest of the year. "We are going to give it our all every lap like we did at the Sokola Shootout," he said. "Hopefully we can get another performance in like we did in qualifying and then get a better result than we did in the main event (after having to go the rear of the field, Alexander drove his way back to 11th)." "It is a good match between us and Greg's team," Jones said. "We are both equally excited to be working with each other. We look forward to further ventures with Greg and possibly with his 360 ride as things mature." For more information on Amsoil and the Oil Twins, please visit their web site at: http://oiltwins.com/ In addition to Amsoil, the Belegante #23 is sponsored by Barnes Systems, Persall Masonry and Scott's Headers and Mufflers. If you would like to be a part of Greg Alexander's racing efforts in 2011, please use the contact information at the top of this release.
